My name is Gail travis and I am the hands behind Inspired Turquoise and for 24 years I have been creating the finest custom tack on the market.

My goal is to bring the art of tack design into the high-end world of authenticated genuine turquoise, silver and other fine gemstones. Creating tack art that is equal to or better than the fine stones and old pawn jewelry that I often use in my design process. My tack art rises above the crowd into a whole new level of quality. Melding the finest leather & the top-most quality genuine turquoise stones and incorporating Native American old pawn pieces as well as contemporary Native jewelry pieces onto fine leather sourced from the best leather makers. I also source pendants from a maker in Sweden that has a gift for stones onto wire wrapped pieces. My tack takes you to a new level of luxury & fine art tack only found here. Offered once piece at a time.

When you purchase one of my exclusive designs I can tell you the exact mine and mine location of where the turquoise has been sourced.

Turquoise I use:

US mines: Kingman (Kingman, Arizona), Lone Mountain (Nevada), Castle Dome (Arizona), Bisbee (Arizona), Morenci (Arizona), Royston (Nevada), Pilot Mountain (Nevada), Carico Lake (Nevada), Lander Blue (Nevada),

Other Countries: Hubei (China), Campitos (Mexico)

Be wise when purchasing something labeled ‘turquoise’, there are stones labeled ‘turquoise’ only for the color as a descriptor, these are actually dyed stones called magnesite, howlite and chalk ‘turquoise’. These are not genuine stones. There is also African turquoise and chrysocolla and malachite is also passed off as real turquoise as well. If in doubt, ask your tack maker to clarify the term turquoise. I wanted to be educated on the subject and use only genuine, that is why I now am certified from the International Gem Society as a turquoise specialist.
